The X-Files Returns to Comics This December, Headlining Dynamite's Full Solicit Slate

Dynamite's December 2026 solicitations are out, and the headliner is a genuine event for '90s TV fans: The X-Files is coming back to comics. Writer Joe Harris and artist R.D. Brown reunite Mulder and Scully for a new #1, out December 9 at $4.99, that sends the pair after teenagers suddenly manifesting telekinetic powers online - a viral mystery that predictably spirals into extraterrestrial origins and the kind of government conspiracy the show built its name on.

Dynamite is backing the launch with a heavy cover lineup, including work from Clayton Crain, Ivan Tao, and Charlie Adlard, plus a photo-based "Roswell" variant for retailers who'd rather sell a crash-site polaroid than a superhero pose. Harris previously wrote Season 10 and 11 of IDW's X-Files comics, so this isn't a new voice taking a swing at the property - it's a returning one picking up where he left off.

The rest of December's Dynamite slate goes heavy on holiday one-shots: a Vampirella Helliday Special set in Barcelona, a Red Sonja Solstice Special where a midwinter tavern celebration turns violent, a three-story We Bare Bears Christmas Special, and a Gargoyles Winter Special featuring Bronx and Lance, alongside continuing issues of Evil Ernie, Barbarella, Ben 10, ThunderCats, Aladdin, and TaleSpin.
