Mad Cave's Weekly World News Turns Tabloid Conspiracy Into a Six-Issue Series

Mad Cave Studios is closing out the year with a full-on tabloid conspiracy romp. The publisher's December 2026 solicitations are headlined by Weekly World News #1 (of 6), a new series co-written by Ken Kristensen, Steven Paul Judd, and Tvli Jacob, with art by M.K. Perker.

The premise follows the son of a disgraced journalist who takes a job at the titular tabloid, only to find that its outlandish headlines about bat boys and alien abductions are pointing at something real. Mad Cave is pitching the tone as X-Files paranoia filtered through the irreverence of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which tracks with the publisher's growing appetite for genre comedy with teeth.

Weekly World News #1 hits shelves December 2 at $4.99. It headlines a broader December slate for Mad Cave that also includes new issues of Christopher Sebela and Ibrahim Moustafa's Don Quixote riff La Mancha and the Escape from New York spin-off one-shot Escape From the North Pole.
