IDW's New Godzilla: Revenge of the Deadzone Traps The Wanderer in G-Force Custody

IDW is expanding its Godzilla line with Godzilla: Revenge of the Deadzone, a new five-issue miniseries from writers Ethan S. Parker and Griffin Sheridan and artist Pablo Tunica. Issue #1 hits shelves October 28, 2026, with pre-orders due September 21, and kicks off a story built around a mysterious figure known only as "The Wanderer," who gets taken into custody by G-Force early in the run.

The series digs into G-Force's handling of the Wanderer's capture while tracing a cross-country journey that, by issue #3 (out December 23), starts pulling back the curtain on the secretive Church of Godzilla. It's a more grounded, human-scale companion piece to IDW's bigger kaiju battles — leaning on interrogation and mystery rather than city-leveling brawls, at least to start.

Revenge of the Deadzone lands right in the middle of a broader Godzilla push at IDW: Godzilla #16 brings back Destoroyah in January with Tim Seeley writing and Isaac Goodheart on art, Starship Godzilla: Invasion X #4 also ships in January, and the publisher has teased a bigger "Godzilla vs. Everything" event still to come within the current Kai-Sei era.
