Eric Powell's The Goon Gets a Deluxe Library Edition Comeback in 2027

Dark Horse and Albatross Books are bringing Eric Powell's The Goon back to shelves in a new, bigger library edition format, starting with Volume 1 on March 2, 2027. The hardcover jumps up to a 7" x 10" trim size and runs 496 pages, collecting the original Volumes 0-3 for $59.99. Volumes 2 through 5 are slated to follow through 2027 and into 2028.

For anyone who hasn't spent time with it, The Goon is Powell's genre-blending crime-pulp series about a mob enforcer squaring off against a Zombie Priest and his undead army, mixing horror, slapstick, and hardboiled crime in a way that's earned it a loyal following since it launched. Fellow creator Steve Niles has called Powell "on the top of my list of best artist/writers out working today," and this reprint is aimed at collectors who missed the earlier library editions the first time around.

It's a reprint announcement rather than new story content, but a full-series relaunch in a premium format is exactly the kind of thing that tends to move at retail once solicitations open, especially for a book that's been tricky to find in its original printings.
