DC Teases Absolute Justice League While NYCC Exclusives Roll In for Absolute Batman and Wonder Woman

DC's Absolute Universe panel at New York Comic Con (October 9) is expected to formally unveil Absolute Justice League, the long-teased crossover event writer Scott Snyder has been hinting at for months. Early word points to a lineup built around villains reimagined as heroes — Jack Grimm standing in for the Joker, alongside twisted takes on Hector Hammond, Doctor Elenore Thawne, Veronica Cale, and possibly Brainiac.

Ahead of the panel, retailers are already rolling out NYCC-exclusive covers for the line's two flagship books. Absolute Batman #24 picks up variants from Brett Bean (PSA Comics), Pablo Collar in standard and virgin editions (Comic Pop Collectibles), and a Stjepan Sejic foil/virgin pairing (Comic Inspiration). Absolute Wonder Woman #24 gets its own Saowee cover from PSA Comics alongside a Lucio Parrillo foil/virgin set from Comic Inspiration.

On the collectible side, Monogram International is putting out a limited 3D foam bag clip three-pack featuring Batman, a dragon-form Joker, and cover art, capped at 260 sets. With the Absolute line still running well ahead of the rest of the direct market, expect these exclusives — and whatever Snyder reveals about Absolute Justice League — to move fast.
