Doyle with art by Fran Galan, has spent its run digging into a missing-persons case tangled up with a shady wellness supplement — but issue #3 turns that mystery into a full-blown retcon of who Clayface actually is.

The twist: Matt Hagen, the second man to wear the Clayface identity and long understood to have gained his powers from radioactive exposure, is revealed to be the son of the original Clayface, Basil Karlo — meaning the family tree collectors thought they knew has been quietly rewritten. Dr. Victoria October, the scientist introduced in Detective Comics who once tried to cure Clayface's condition, is along for the ride as the investigation unravels — and the fallout hits her personally.
