Boom-Boom Takes the Reins as Marvel Announces Fugitive X-Force
Marvel has announced Fugitive X-Force, a five-issue limited series launching in December 2026 from writer Tim Seeley and artist Áthila Fabbio (making his Marvel debut). The series picks up right where Inglorious X-Force leaves off, with Cable's mind compromised and the team framed for a crime they didn't commit.
Hunted by both authorities and fellow mutants, Boom-Boom steps up to lead X-Force for the first time, running the team alongside Archangel, Hellverine, Domino, and Ms. Marvel. Domino, meanwhile, works her own angle trying to track down Cable and figure out exactly what happened to him.
Seeley has described the series as "a natural extension of Inglorious," digging into the fallout from that story rather than starting over from scratch. Fabbio, a self-described '90s X-fan, singled out getting to draw Cable as a highlight of landing the gig.
Inglorious X-Force wraps up its run with issues #9-10 in October, setting the stage directly for this launch. Cover art on Fugitive X-Force #1 comes from Eric Canete (main and virgin variant), with additional variants from Mark Bagley (a "Wanted" themed cover), Gerardo Sandoval, and Pere Pérez.
