Batman of Two Worlds Headlines DC's Batman Day 2026 Blowout

DC just laid out its plans for Batman Day 2026 on September 19, and the centerpiece is a $2.99 one-shot called Batman of Two Worlds that puts the mainline Dark Knight and the Absolute Universe's version side by side. Matt Fraction and Javi Fernández handle the main-continuity story, while Scott Snyder and Nick Derington tackle the Absolute Batman half, with a shared cover from Jorge Jiménez and Nick Dragotta.

Snyder framed the pairing as a study in contrast rather than a crossover gimmick, describing the book as exploring "what theft means in one world versus the other, and what Batman's form of justice looks like in each." Given how well Absolute Batman has been selling this year, putting it directly next to the flagship version is a smart way to get readers comparing notes on both takes.

The one-shot isn't the whole event. DC is also rolling out four collectible paper Batman masks illustrated by Ryan Sook, five new hardcover collections (including Batman '89, Hush, and The Dark Knight Returns), free issues on DC Universe Infinite, and in-store creator appearances at participating shops.
