Archie, Terminal, and Crowbound Rack Up Reprints as Readers Chase Sold-Out Books

Retailers are going back to press on a handful of books that clearly outran their initial print runs. Oni Press's relaunched Archie #1 is now up to a second, third, and fourth printing, with the fourth arriving alongside a new Travis Charest cover timed to Local Comic Shop Day — a strong showing for a legacy title getting a fresh jumping-on point.

Image/Skybound has its own demand problem in a good way. Robert Kirkman's return to superhero comics, Terminal, is getting a third printing on issue #1 and a second on issue #2, both landing September 30. Jeff Lemire's Crowbound #1 is right behind it with a second printing the same day — Lemire has said he's been "overwhelmed" by how readers responded to the launch. Elsewhere in the Skybound stable, Invincible Universe: Battle Beast continues to be a print-run magnet, with issues now stacking up sixth, fifth, and third printings.

Vault's Project Perseus #1 is also going back to press for October 14, this time with new variant covers attached, and DC's Batman & Robin Year One: Dynamic Duos #1 picks up a second printing the same week.

Reprints are as good a real-time read on reader demand as sales charts get — worth keeping in mind if any of these first printings are still sitting in shop back-issue bins near you.
